Generally, the validity for any kind of car insurance has been for 1 year from the date of a policy, In July 2018 supreme court mandated that all new car insurance will compulsorily cover third party cover for 3 years.

11. Is there any exclusion in an HDFC ERGO car insurance policy?

Not every little damage repaired is borne by the company. Things like electrical breakdown, depreciation of car parts, general wear and tear, the influence of alcohol, or any man-made calamities are not covered by HDFC ERGO.

The policyholder of HDFC ERGO can make only three claims which are subject to damage or loss to the parked car by external factors, flood, earthquake, etc.
