CHEVROLET CAPTIVA CAR INSURANCE

The face lift version of the Chevrolet Captiva sports utility vehicle (SUV) had its India rollout in 2012. A further upgrade was carried out in 2015. The car sported a new design for its headlamps, taillights, and a split-styled front grille. The LED turn indicators were integrated into the outside rear view mirrors (OVRMs). The General Motors-owned brand intentionally worked on the SUV’s face to forge a more macho and aggressive look.

The Captiva was a spacious car with acres of headroom and legroom. It was a robust vehicle and came in a number of attractive colour options. The car was discontinued when General Motors (GM) exited India.

Chevrolet Captiva Car Insurance Coverage

Third-party insurance: This type of motor insurance is mandatory in India. It extends protection to third-parties for injuries to property and/or individuals where the policyholder is held liable for the accident. A third-party insurance covers minimal risks. It doesn’t pay for the theft of the insured car.

Comprehensive insurance: It covers third-party liability and expenses incurred by the policyholder when there’s a damage or theft of the insured car. The policyholder can also benefit from a personal accident cover which compensates in the event of an injury or death.

Chevrolet Captiva:Add-On Covers

Zero depreciation: A zero depreciation add-on cover ensures that the policyholder gets the full claim amount of the replaced parts in the event of an accident. This cover, however, is only applicable for vehicles less than three years old.

Roadside assistance (RSA): In case of an emergency like flat tyres, empty fuel tank, or battery issues, the insurer provides RSA if the car is stranded in a remote locations. Policyholders can benefit from towing assistance, refueling and even accommodation.

No claim bonus (NCB) protection: The NCB is a reward given by the insurer to the policyholder for not making any claims during the policy tenure. It leads to a signification reduction in the premium to be paid in the following year. The NCB stands forfeited in case of a claim.

Engine protection: This reimburses the expenses incurred if there are damages to the insured vehicle’s engine and electronic circuits. This add-on cover is helpful for those living in flood-prone areas.

Chevrolet Captiva:Review

The Chevrolet Captiva was a rather robust car that didn’t conform to the typical SUV appearance. It offered comfortable seating with amble space in the cabin. Performance-wise, the car was a breeze once it crossed the 3,000rpm mark. The all-wheel-drive version could negotiate all terrains with ease. It had a 7.0-inch screen fitted on its central console with easy operations. Automatic headlights and central locking were the other major features.
