1. Is five-year two-wheeler insurance compulsory?

Yes, having third-party insurance is anyway mandatory for all new two-wheeler insurance as per Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. From 1 September 2018, it is mandatory to have five years of two-wheeler and 3 years for bike insurance is compulsory for a new vehicle.

2. How many claims are allowed in the HDFC two-wheelers insurance policy?

The policyholder of HDFC ERGO can make only three claims which are subject to damage or loss to parked bikes by external factors, flood, earthquake, etc.

3. Is there any exclusion in an HDFC ERGO two-wheeler insurance policy?

Not every little damage repaired is borne by the company. Things like electrical breakdown, depreciation of two-wheeler parts, general wear and tear, the influence of alcohol, or any man-made calamities are not covered by HDFC ERGO.

Yes, if you are selling your two-wheeler and you can transfer the two-wheeler insurance policy too in the name of the new owner within the period of 15 days.

6. How does the HDFC ERGO determine the premium amount for Two-wheeler?

The premium to be paid is determined by several criteria, including the vehicle's IDV, the location and date of registration, the vehicle's cubic capacity, and so on.

7. Do I have to report to the Police Department in case of third-party damages in HDFC ERGO?

Yes, in the event of a third-party death, self-injury, or property damage to a third party, you should contact the authorities right away. Make an accident report and retain a copy of it.

13. How does emergency assistance work in HDFC ERGO?

Emergency assistance is an add-on cover and has to be purchased by paying an additional premium amount. It has various benefits like assistance in case of tire replacement towing and fuel replacement etc. can avail during policy duration Emergency assistance is also known as Roadside assistance.
