Third-Party Liability Coverage is essential for you to drive a bike in India. Third party two wheeler insurance policy covers injuries, death, or disabilities caused to another person and damages caused to the property of other people during accidents.
The Standalone Own-Damage Coverage is not mandatory. You can buy Standalone Own-Damage Coverage insurance if you want to cover damages caused to your bike, and its parts, by fire/accidents/vandalism/road collisions /natural calamities/theft.
Comprehensive Insurance is also optional. In addition to the third-party coverage, comprehensive insurance provides protection against damages caused to your bike by covering costs related to loss/damage caused to your motorcycle due to accidents, theft, malicious acts, burglary, housebreaking, flood, earthquake, fire, or explosion.
Zero Depreciation Cover: For every claim-free year, your insurance provider gives you a no-claim bonus or a discount on your renewal premium. However, you lose your eligibility for the bonus if you file a claim. If you include this add-on cover in your Honda CB Shine two-wheeler policy, you will retain your eligibility for the bonus even if you file a claim in the previous year.
Engine & Gear Protection Cover: This is a great add-on cover you can include in your policy to protect your bike’s engine and gearbox against damages due to accidents/lubricating oil leaks/water regression.
Invoice Protection Cover: This add-on covers the entire cost (replacement cost) if the Honda CB Shine gets stolen or is damaged beyond repair.
Roadside Breakdown Assistance Cover: If you don’t want to get stranded somewhere because of a breakdown/empty fuel tank/other issues, you must include this add-on to your policy.

The all-new Shine looks like its predecessor CB Shine 125 as Honda has strived to maintain its appearance. It also features a most modern LED headlight and a fully digital console and displays speed, distance, and fuel level. Further, an engine kill switch has been added to Honda Shine. Shine’s new BS-VI-compliant engine comes with Honda’s alternator current generator (ACG), silent start option, and a 5-speed gearbox.
No, that is not possible. This cover is provided only for new bikes purchased after September 2018. You can opt for comprehensive insurance. Third-party insurance is mandatory for all bikes running on Indian roads.
Yes, you can do that to reduce your premium burden. However, it is better avoided because a reduction in the insured declared value (IDV) increases your liability when your bike is damaged beyond repair or stolen.
It is always better to renew your bike’s insurance policy before it expires. If the policy expires, you will not be eligible for the protection offered by the policy.
Bumper-to-Bumper cover is the same as Zero depreciation cover. You need to buy this add-on cover by making an additional premium payment. It provides complete coverage and you can claim the total amount for damages.
