Reliance Health Insurance Policy: FAQs

Q: Do I need health insurance when I am already covered under my employer's group policy?

You are only covered until you are employed with your existing organisation. Once you move to another job, retire or start a venture of your own, you will not be covered. Also, your health insurance acts as a supplement to the existing cover in case the cost of a specific treatment is higher than your present coverage.

Q: What is the age criteria for buying health insurance from Reliance?

The minimum age for individual/floater options is 5 years and above. Children between the age of 91 days and 4 years can be covered under a floater option along with at least one member 21 years old or above. Maximum entry age for all plans is 65 years; however, there is no entry age bar for sum insured of 3 lakh rupees.

Q: Can you please explain what are pre-existing diseases?

Any conditions, ailments, injuries or related conditions for which the insured individual had signs/symptoms, and/or were diagnosed, and/or received medical advice/treatment within 36 months before the first health insurance policy issue date.

Q: What is "reinstatement of base sum insured"?

If you have exhausted your total sum insured, cumulative bonus (if any) and still need further hospitalisation for related or unrelated illnesses, Reliance will refill the full sum insured without any extra charges.

Q: What is the claim settlement process of Reliance health insurance?

Intimate Reliance by filling up an online form and uploading all the relevant documents. Post a successful acceptance; claims are usually settled within a week.
