General Exclusions of Liberty General Health Insurance

  • Waiting period: 30 days (from the commencement date of the first policy, applies to all diseases or illnesses contracted other than accidental bodily injuries requiring hospitalisation).
  • 2-year waiting period: For treatments such as cataract, benign prostatic hypertrophy, hernia, hydrocele, fistula in anus, piles, sinusitis and related disorders.
  • Pre-existing conditions: Pre-existing conditions and any complications are not covered until 36 months of continuous coverage since the inception of your first policy.
  • Any condition directly/indirectly caused by/associated with sexually transmitted diseases including genital warts, syphilis, gonorrhoea, genital herpes, chlamydia, pubic lice, trichomoniasis and AIDS (whether or not arising out of HIV).
  • Treatments arising from/traceable to pregnancy, miscarriage (unless due to an accident), childbirth, maternity, abortion or related complications.
  • Dental treatments or surgeries (unless requiring hospitalisation due to an accident).
  • Charges incurred in connection with cost of spectacles, contact lenses, hearing aids, routine eye/ear examinations, laser surgeries for correction of refractory errors, dentures and artificial teeth.
  • Experimental, investigational and unproven treatments.
  • Procedures, investigations and treatments related to sleep disorders or sleep apnea syndrome.
  • Treatment of mental illness, stress, psychiatric and psychological disorders.
  • War/any act of war, invasion, an act of a foreign enemy, warlike operations, civil war, public defence, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, mutiny, military/usurped acts, seizure, capture, arrest, restraints and detainment of all kinds.
  • Illnesses or injuries arising from insured individual committing any breach of law with criminal intent.
