*Note: The claimed mileage or 'rated mileage' refers to the fuel efficiency data provided by organizations like ARAI (the Automotive Research Association of India) and ICAT (International Centre for Automotive Technology). The numbers are based on standardized tests conducted under controlled laboratory conditions and may differ from the real-world fuel consumption experiences of actual drivers.
100cc, 125cc bikes, 150cc offerings, 200cc bikes or retro bikes in India; irrespective of the ride you choose, it's impossible to downplay the utmost relevance of a carefully formulated two-wheeler insurance policy that financially safeguards you against damages or losses from human-made and natural causes.
Let QuickInsure help you analyse all the leading bike insurance covers, review their pricing structures, and finalise the right one for your bike safety needs.
The mileage of the bike depends on various factors, including driving conditions and your driving habits. While the real-time figures may vary from person to person, going purely by the ARAI specifications, TVS Sport BS6, Hero Splendor+ Xtec 2.0, TVS Radeon, Bajaj CT 110X BS6 and Platina 100 are the highest mileage bikes on offer with a claimed mileage of up to 80 Kmpl.
Currently, there is no 100 Km mileage bike in India. However, bikes like the TVS Radeon, Sport, Bajaj Platina 100 and CT 110X BS6, if driven appropriately under suitable conditions, can surprise with their fuel efficiency figures reaching the 80-90 Kmpl mark.
When it comes to the highest mileage bikes in the 100cc category, Hero Splendor+ Xtec 2.0 and HF Deluxe are the names worth mentioning.
125cc bikes are primarily intended for beginner riders looking to commute in the city. In terms of maximum mileage, top contenders include Hero Xtreme 125R, Glamour and Honda SP 125.
Unlike their 125cc counterparts, 150cc bikes not only bring a better balance of performance and features, but they also provide more power for relatively improved riding experiences. These motorcycles are not necessarily meant to achieve high mileage figures. That said, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 can be considered for its fairly good fuel efficiency numbers.
Sports bikes, by definition, are optimized for performance-oriented aggressive riding, speed and acceleration, with less focus on fuel efficiency. Although it is unrealistic to expect higher mileage ratings, Honda's SP 125 and Yamaha's FZ-S Fi can offer satisfactory outcomes.
